Paloma Limestone, also known as rock dove, is a pore rock between homogeneous particles, characterized by homogeneous white appearance. Located exclusively in the Matagallar quarry, located in the town of Pedrera (Seville).
It consists mainly of well-selected ooliths, many of whose nuclei are fossils: foraminifera, fragments of bryozoa and molluscs and plates of echinoderms. It has a microcrystalline matrix between olitose calcitic indications and sparytic cement. It is composed of 99% calcite and 1% other minerals such as quartz and oxide.
